Unstill Life. 2000

In Unstill Life, a digital portrait observes and responds to the interactions between the installation visitors and apples. If the visitor eats an apple, the portrait alters and gains digital weight; if the visitor abstains the portrait decays; and if the portrait receives insufficient attention (time spent, apple interaction) animation frames are deleted and the portrait gradually vanishes.

In Unstill Life for the first time the consumption of real apples is the organic interface between the audience and a projected character.
